Given that deadlines are rapidly approaching and excercise is the last thing on our minds at this time of the year, we thought we would give you a bit of motivation. I am sure you are all familiar with the slogan ‘Keep It Cassy’ and we managed to corner Cass our to find out a little more about what it’s like to be Sports President at the University of York…
Congratulations on getting sports president, what made you want to run for it?
Thanks very much – i’m delighted to say the least. Having been in the role for almost a year, I felt I was the best person for the job. I also enjoy the role very much – it’s extremely challenging but getting to work with York’s students is incredible.
What is your your favorite sport?
My favourite sport has got to be badminton. It’s the main sport I play and is just so much fun. I have enjoyed watching the curling in the winter olympics though, I must say!
What do you want to achieve this year?
I’m pleased to say that i’ve achieved the majority of my policies so far. In the few months I have left I want to look into sponsorship options for the York Sport Union and college sport as well as helping York aim for an away Roses win.
If you could back one sports society at the University of York what would it be?
If you could back one sports society at the University of York what would it be? – This question is outrageous but okay… Probably Lacrosse – they’ve had a fantastic year and i’m very proud of their progress, achievements and commitment.
How did you celebrate your victory?
Drinking and dancing the night away in WIllow – standard.
A bit more personal but what is your most embarrassing moment?
I once ended up in huddersfield on a night out dressed in nothing but a twister mat
