However, as I promised myself, I used that time to be productive. I finished the majority of one of my remaining problem sets in a short few hours, and then made Lady Gaga sunglasses for a talent show. (What do you think? Should I sequin the bottom of the rims, too?)
It’s funny how you can procrastinate for so long on something, and then when you actually put your nervous energy into it, you complete it quite fast. I feel like this is quintessential college kid experience: procrastinate, worry, work way too hard too fast, complete assignment (relatively) on time.
Take Cal Band, for example. Due to the scheduling of the football games, we might have 2 back-to-back weekend games, meaning have from Monday-Thursday to learn the music and only Tuesday-Saturday morning to learn the charting for halftime. As crazy as we get during the week trying to cram all the practice into our schedules, the pressure of being in the North Tunnel, about to run on to the field takes over and we (mostly) get it together. I can’t really explain the experience, but here’s a video clip I found of what it’s like to be in the tunnel as we run out for our pregame show. (And here’s what our pregame looks like from the student section.)
Collegiettes™, how do you react under pressure? Does the pressure of only 3-minutes make you work more efficiently in the shower?
Today’s song: Wynter Jordan – “Dirty Talk” (Lyrics NSFW, I suppose) (3:15 music only)
What I did with my extra time: what extra time?!?
