After a two-year-long absence, the Golden Globe Awards returned to the small screen in 2023 — and so did the jaw-dropping fashion. This year, the big night turned out to be an evening of eye-catching fashion statements both on stage and on the red carpet. Stars brought their fashion A-game, stepping out in luxurious velvet looks, baby-pink sequins, and plenty of custom couture. My favorite look of the night? The stunning Bailey Bass of Avatar: The Way of Water wearing Christian Dior. And although I had no idea who Bailey was before witnessing her gorgeous red carpet moment, I definitely do now — and there’s no denying that the 19-year-old was among some of the best dressed stars of the evening.Â
Bass, who attended the Golden Globe Awards for the first time to celebrate and support her recent film, Avatar: The Way of Water — which received a few nominations, including Best Motion Picture for Drama — wore a gold silk Dior ball gown paired with an ensemble of gold Dior jewelry.
It was giving Bridgerton, besties, and I am absolutely here for it. The floor length hemline, accented with a ruffled waist, beautifully elongated the actresses frame, and her hair and makeup were equally as gorgeous. Bass opted for a sleek knotted updo, and the look was pulled together with soft glam and bold brows — I mean, honestly, it was too good!Â
Fans eagerly took to Twitter in awe of the golden style by Bass, (rightfully) obsessing over the Interview With A Vampire star’s look and even dubbing her the new “it girl” of the red carpet. Her unique gown, with gold metallic accents, seemed to perfectly fit in with some of the biggest celebrities of the night (who also joined in on the metallic wave), making shiny hues a trend you definitely want to keep your eye on in the new year. Metallics and sparkles showed up on several Golden Globes attendees this year — with stars like Jennifer Coolidge, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Michelle Yeoh all hopping on the sparkle train (and looking absolutely amazing while doing it, OFC) — but when it came to the small (shining) details, IMO, Bass did it best, and I can’t wait to see more looks from her in 2023.
