Bill Nye Was Born to Be a Model, Proves It on NYFW Runway

Gigi Hadid had better watch out, because there’s a new supermodel in town.

Bill Nye the Science Guy–aka my childhood idol–stepped out on the New York Fashion Week runway this week and totally slayed with his out-of-this-world outfit.

The scientist slash actor debuted his runway career on Tuesday as part of designer Nick Graham’s collection called “Life on Mars: Fall-Winter 2035.” Bill Nye wore a metallic suit with a rocket ship print, and of course one of his signature bowties. He even told Vogue that he owns 500 bow ties and “would wear a lab coat all day every day if [he] worked in the right situation.” I just love this combination of nerdiness and fashion.

Another model that evening was real-life astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and I am so on board with Graham’s choice to turn intellectuals into models, proving you don’t need to be a supermodel to show off edgy attire.

And on top of modeling, Bill Nye has been staying busy by defending Planned Parenthood and slamming Trump for denying climate change. AND the Science Guy is returning to Netflix this spring with Bill Nye Saves the World. Please tell me how someone can have a degree in mechanical engineering, be woke af, walk in NYFW and have a show coming out on Netflix???

I mean, we all knew Bill Nye was cool, but this cool?! He’s making science trendy.
