In Her Campus’ series Closet Check, we’re getting a look inside the closet of a college student and learning all about how they put together their favorite outfits. In this piece, we talk to Siobhan Robinson, a junior at San José State University, who likes to match her look to the sunny California weather.

The Closet Check
My towel organizer is my favorite feature in my closet! I bought it when I first moved into our new dorm room space, and I enjoy how it makes my closet look less crowded and hectic! The organizer also included a laundry hamper, so I was able to store my dirty items there, making laundry days a snap! I also use the closet for storage because my dorm room is small, so I like how everything fits together well.
Creating The Fits
I normally choose my outfits based on the weather! Every morning, I ask Alexa what the weather will be like for the rest of the day, and then I make my decision. Usually, I choose whatever pants I’m going to wear first, and then base the rest of my outfit on them.
What I’d Wear On: A Date Night
I’m wearing a crocheted crop top and a denim skirt in baby blue! I love preppy and pretty outfits, especially in the spring, and I can certainly see myself wearing this look again on a date to express myself via fashion. To add to the white and blue vibe, I wore my favorite bandana as a headband and wore long silver earrings. I really enjoy purses, so I used my mother’s old one.
What I’d Wear To: A Darty
This is what I wore to my very first darty! I adore the Y2K style, which has recently been popular among Gen Zers, and I frequently try to emulate Destiny’s Child, 3LW, or any other popular girl groups of the time. In this photo, I’m wearing a crocheted crop top (thanks to my friend, who lended it to me) and a denim skirt. I like to go all-out with my accessories! I accessorized with gold hoop earrings and gold layered necklaces. But my favorite accessory is my butterfly waist chain, which I purchased from a small shop in our local mall!
What I’d Wear To: An Internship Interview
I love the color black! I believe it can match with anything, and I feel the most content when I wear black, so I would definitely wear that color to a prospective internship. I’m wearing a turtleneck and black flowing pants. I always equate turtlenecks with sophistication, so that’s what I’d like to project to potential employers. I really like flowing and wide-leg leggings because they are appropriate yet not too tight, so I can wear the look for lengthy periods of time! I keep my accessories simple and wear silver hoop earrings.
What I’d Wear To: Class
My friends at college have probably seen me wear this outfit a hundred times, but it is unquestionably my go-to look. The top is a Brandy Melville crop top that I found at a thrift store in my hometown. I also prefer to pair the shirt with denim shorts and a denim belt. I live and go to school in California, where it is almost always sunny, so my outfits should constantly reflect that. I keep my accessories basic and like to wear delicate necklaces, which I sometimes layer!
