Today’s shower time: showered in 3ish minutes last night but didn’t fully wash my hair because I have to run early today
The shower situation: had a few minutes to shower and have time for dinner between a run and class
Why you should come back tomorrow: to see how to start the weekend right (because mine starts Wednesday at 4 p.m)
Don’t worry! Taking short showers does not actually lead to weight gain. I simply have more time to enjoy meals. I’ll get back to that in a minute.
Monday is my hectic day. I have three classes and a three hour film screening. When you add reporting, running, meetings, and homework to the mix, the day gets crazy. Trust me – I’m not complaining. I like being busy. I also have no classes Thursday or Friday, and my only class Tuesday is a film screening. There are two things you should take from this: 1) Plan for an easy last semester of college. 2) Major or minor in film and you can call movie screenings class.
This busy schedule necessitates quick transitions. I usually take a long shower, throw on clothes, grab a sandwich and (literally) run to the next stop. Last night, I took a short post-run shower and actually had time to enjoy a nice meal before my film screening (where we watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer – the prelude to one of my favorite shows). This challenge is proving to be incredibly beneficial to my social life. I have much more time for friends!
My boyfriend and I went to Noodles & Company last night. I used to be a Subway fanatic. I even wrote a column about the employees knowing my order. However, I discovered Noodles this year. Sure I’d been there a few times in the past, but I didn’t truly appreciate it’s awesomeness. It’s tasty, (can be) healthy and it’s efficient. You get good food and you get it pretty quickly. I always get the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese with tomatoes, broccoli and spinach. Sometimes I add chicken but today I shied away because I didn’t want anything interfering with the taste of the cheese. One thing I always add – bread. I’m Italian and I’m a runner so carbs must be in my DNA.
So far my family, friends and appetite are benefiting from this challenge. Oh, and I’m also doing my small part to save the planet!
