Earth Lovers: Water Bottles

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

I’m a big water drinker. Unfortunately, my trusty camelbak’s lid has begun leaking when I take it with me to go. I’ll keep it in my fridge to chill tap water, but I need a new option to toss in my bag.
I’ve seen some really nice glass water bottles, which are simple, but a little heavy. I haven’t been crazy about the screw-tops of my past aluminum water bottles, and I’d only be able to clean them with a stiff scrub brush, which can remove the coating inside the bottle. I decided to eschew glass and aluminum bottles in favor of a BPA-free plastic bottle again. I decided to try the Vapur “anti-bottle”.

The Vapur is made of a stiff but flexible plastic material. It’s not as rigid as a Nalgene, but not as flexible as a Ziploc bag. It stands when water is inside, but can be folded when it’s empty.

My Vapur arrived in the mail today and I love it so far! It has a sport top-style cap and comes with a carabiner. I already wrote my name on my purple Vapur, which is attached to my keys.

I love that it’s light and takes up so little space. I was concerned that the “anti-bottle” would be unwieldy and flop around when I picked it up, but the BPA-free plastic strikes the perfect balance between rigidity and give.

This post isn’t sponsored by Vapur, but I thought I’d share my happiness with the “anti-bottle” so far!  What kind of water bottle do you use?

Today’s shower followed a brief outdoor run along the beautiful Charles river. It clocked in at 3 minutes (yes!) and left me scented like lemon thyme again. This is Harvard’s admitted students weekend, so I used my extra time today to talk to some pre-frosh, meet up with friends I hadn’t seen in quite a while, and visit the new Pinkberry in Harvard Square! The campus is bustling…I’ll post tomorrow with notes from Harvard’s Earth Day celebration and other activites that are taking place this weekend.

And finally, the promised review of The Body Shop’s DeoDry deodorant!

I was sent the “DeoDry Dry-Effect Deodorant Cool & Zesty Roll-On”. I honestly can’t tell you how effective the deodorant is (I’m not a big sweater [particularly not a piece of clothing], and Boston’s bizarre weather vacillates so frequently between mild and freezing that I don’t think anyone here has been sweating much). However, the Cool & Zesty scent is absolutely incredible- it’s a little spicy, like cologne, but still clean and a little sweet. It’s one of the most alluring scents I’ve had the pleasure of smelling in a while. I like it so much that I’ll probably end up rolling it on as perfume before the week is out. Other benefits: the deodorant contains no aluminum or parabens! There are concerns that aluminum may be linked to Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer; while there are studies refuting both claims, I’d rather not risk it. Also, you can purchase a refill for the roll-on deodorant! What a great way to save a little plastic and money!

As always, your comments are very much appreciated! Leave one below, follow me at twitter.com/jsongnaps, and come back tomorrow to read how my Vapur will hold up on a busy day full of pre-frosh activities!
