Fall is slowly creeping up on us and I know you’re all itching to update your wardrobe with some of fall’s latest trends. But while you’re out shopping up a storm, don’t forget to show your makeup collection a little love too, ladies! Fall is the perfect time to reinvent your makeup look and doing so doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.
To give you some ideas for the perfect back-to-school look, I enlisted Eva Chen, Beauty and Health Director at Teen Vogue, to give you some pointers. Her number one tip for achieving a fabulous fall look? Simplicity.
“I think for college students and students in general, you want a makeup look that you’re not going to have to constantly reapply,” Chen says.
Here are some of her tips for a simple yet chic fall look!
Trendworthy
If you like to follow the trends from one season to the next, you’ll want to invest in some red and orange lip products, as well as some bright eyeliners, Chen says, as all were hot on the runway for fall.
Lips
For a fun and easy look that will last throughout your busy days, Chen recommends a lip stain. Try Revlon’s Just Bitten or Tarte’s LipSurgence natural lip stain in Amused.
Eyes
When it comes to eyes, Chen loves “Bambi lashes.” The longer and cleaner the lashes, the better they look.
To get this long-lashed look, try Cover Girl’s Lash Exact mascara and all eyes will be on you.
Cheeks
Where to put it? What shade to use? Please don’t let me look like that crazy old woman I see on the streets with Rudolph-colored cheeks! You get it, ladies, blush can be a scary thing if you don’t know how to use it properly.
Like many women, Chen admits that she once was a little afraid of blush. But now she loves applying a cream blush after moisturizer to makes it easier to blend and move the blush.
Nails
There’s nothing like a fun nail polish shade to brighten up your look. Chen swears by bright colors for a mood booster, saying they always cheer her up.
Try this fun shade, a favorite of HC’s Cara!
Whatever look you want to try out, just remember to have fun with it, beautiful!
