Pack away your bikinis and beach bags and pull out your boots and shackets, because fall is quickly approaching — and unfortunately, we can’t avoid it any longer! Although the weather hasn’t quite matched the fall mood quite yet, that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to start thinking about fall ‘fits, decor, and of course, hair. Something that I look forward to doing in the fall is taking out my braids and straightening my hair for the cooler weather. I’ve been holding off on switching up my hair, but I want to experience fall ASAP! So, straight to TikTok I went for some fall hair inspiration and I saw something that caught my eye.
The beginning of fall means Halloween costumes, pumpkin patch pics, haunted house horrors, and all the amazing things that fall brings are that much closer, so just like how the leaves change colors why not switch up your hair, too?
One thing that’s already been sparking conversation on social media is what the trending hair colors will be for this fall. There are already some great options for fall hairstyles that you should try, but what if you want to add some color to compliment it? Well, it was a good thing I was mindlessly scrolling for fall feels, because I found seven hair colors taking over on social media that are going to be perfect for the fall.
- Cowgirl Copper
-
In the spirit of renaming things that already exist and calling them “trendy” (*cough, cough* blueberry milk nails), “Cowgirl Copper” — also known as dark auburn — has taken the reins of being a top contender for best fall 2023 hair color. When I see this hair color, I can’t help but think back to Zendaya’s hair from last year’s Emmy Awards. With this hair color, you could incorporate shades of copper or caramel to give it dimension. I think another great variant of this color would be a cinnamon spice.
- Ash Brown
-
Fact: 2023 is definitely the year of brown hair! So a great recommendation would be ash brown — a hue where brown and silver meet. And if brown is your natural hair color, you don’t have to worry about stripping your locks of its color. This look @hairbitue did is perfect for a low-maintenance style with subtle tonal changes.
- Bronze Brunette
-
Bronze brunette is another 2023 trend that’s bound to be all over your FYP and Explore Page. @silvestrihair shows off this glossy, rich brown hue that features a warm bronze tint. I love this hair color because it gives dark locks such an expensive, luxurious look. You could also use this color for highlights, or add some honey-blonde ones!
- Red
-
Everyone needs a redhead phase, so this is your sign to go ginger this fall. The best thing about going red is that you can find a shade that works perfectly with your skin tone. I love this look from @teresacoleman because this shade really makes her eyes pop, and gives her an overall glow. Imagine having this shade during golden hour. Chef’s kiss!
- Deep Red
-
Dark or deep red is such a beautiful look for the fall. This color is way bolder than the common red, and contains deeper tones and hues. When I think of dark red, I think of burgundy, wine red, and even chestnut. This hair color from @abbeybrookee is a perfect berry deep red, and if you’re a natural redhead, it will really enhance your tresses.
- Wheat Blonde
-
If you can’t choose between warm or cool tones, I think going for a wheat-blonde color would work! I love this look on Elizabeth Olsen’s hair. It has combinations of champagne and honey as well as some light brown roots, creating a nice, neutral look perfect for the fall. Or try @ariellelorre’s concept with a combination of wheat blonde roots and buttery highlights.
- Mushroom Brown
-
OK, stay with me on this one. Mushroom brown sounds strange, but it actually works as a fall hair color. It’s the ashy gray-brown tint of a portobello mushroom, and it makes for shiny looking hair that doesn’t even look like it’s been dyed. This hairstyle that @lexx.aguirre got is right between light brown and dark blonde, so talk to your stylist about trying a cool-toned “bronde” and adding light brown and dark blonde highlights.
