5 Galentine’s Day Outfits To Wear With Your Besties This Year

Unlike Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day — held on Feb. 13 — doesn’t have to involve extravagant dinners and fancy outings. And that’s not even the best part; it doesn’t require a SO. All you need for this holiday is your best friends, and for your plans to actually make it out of the group chat in order to celebrate friendship, love, and respect. And a Galentine’s Day party doesn’t hurt, either.

From having brunch at your favorite cafe to holding a DIY photoshoot in your apartment, Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate your friendships (and the perfect time to play dress up). And don’t worry, even if you’re not obsessed with everything red, pink, heart-patterned, or fluffy on this holiday, there’s a Galentine’s Day party outfit for every kind of bestie outing. If you’re looking for a place to start, I spoke with Gen Z stylist Jessica Olschner to bring you some of the cutest Galentine’s Day outfit inspo. Whether it’s hosting your own Leslie-Knope-like dinner or having a self-care night full of face masks and white wine, Olschner’s curated the perfect outfit for any kind of Galentine’s Day party adventure.

Delicate Knitwear

If you’re looking for all the soft and cozy Galentine’s vibes this Feb. 13, this sweater by @beauumeadow is the perfect option. This small Depop designer makes beautiful knitwear items, along with stunning crochet pieces. (Also a bonus, she shares her amazing patterns, so you can make it yourself!) Style the piece with a monochromatic maxi skirt, a vintage brown boot, and an adorable handbag and voila, the perfect Galentine’s Day Outfit! If you’re looking to add more to the outfit, Olschner says the ensemble will stun as a monochromatic look and lots of layering with jewelry and rings. “Just have fun with it!” Olshner says, “To make a statement, I would wear a beautiful intricate bra with the super high cropped sweater. I would also play around with something that has texture.”

Statement Set

You’re sure to turn heads in this stunning Jaded London matching tank and maxi skirt set. It’s the perfect combo for any kind of Galentine’s Day party. Olschner recommends pairing this hot look with a pair of red boots and a vintage black purse as an accessory. “Such a statement piece,” says Olschner, “it’ll be so different from anything else you will see. And with a sea of singles hopping around town, a statement piece like this will be best!”

Galentine’s Core

For Olschner, this look was inspired by the “vision of a picnic with all your girlfriends under a huge moss tree with a long table filled with vintage dishware, lovely food, roses, and light-colored flowers.” So if you’re heading to a gorgeous Galentine’s garden party like the one described (invite me please), then try this stunning look out for yourself. It features a white satin slip midi dress and patterned mary jane heels. And don’t forget the accessories! Olschner recommends this look be pulled together with an intricate clutch, colorful rings, and a teardrop necklace.

Cozy Night In

Headed to a self-care party with your besties? This cozy two-piece set is perfect for the occasion. You can wear it casually as PJs, or wear the pieces separately as a streetwear look. “I try not to buy from Amazon often, but I chose this outfit because it can also be worn in so many different ways,” says Olschner. “I believe It’s important to buy statement pieces and classics. Anything in between will fade out of style. And linen is a classic.” Pair the set with cozy slippers and glamorous pearls and you have a lovely stay-at-home Galentine’s Day party fit.

Dark Hearts

If you and your Galentine’s are planning on a night out this year, try this stunning evening look Olschner put together. “Channeling the inner Mortica Adams,” Olschner says. “This week doesn’t have to be all about the baby pinks.” The outfit features the Athena One Shoulder Maxi Dress from Jaden London paired with a stunning mini leather moon bag and textured, pointed-toe black heels.
