The most highly anticipated fashion show of this year is due to air on November 28 from Shanghai, China and as of today it looks like quite a few of our favorite models and stars won’t be attending.
I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! :) x

Gigi Hadid took to Twitter to announce that she will not be able to make it to the VS show this year, which is featuring in Asia for the first time ever. It’s suspected that Hadid was denied a visa based off a controversial video she posted on Snapchat this year where she mocked Asian facial features.
In addition, Katy Perry shared that she too will be missing out this year. Many speculations surround her absence, among which are visa denials and perhaps in Katy’s case, offending the nation with a controversial costume back in 2015. During a performance in Taiwan, Perry, who is already known for her unconventional fashion, adorned an outfit covered in sunflowers, the symbol associated with anti-Chinese student protesters.
However, Alessandra Ambrosio and many other top models will still be in attendance, including Sara Sampaio and (kween!) Karlie Kloss who will be returning to the runway after a two-year absence.
In addition to Karlie’s epic return, our other favorite Hadid sister is confirmed to attend this year, wings and all. Bella Hadid took to Instagram ready to announce her second time walking.
The VSFS lineup is always a little unpredictable––just last year, Kendall Jenner kept us wondering whether we would see her on the runway until the very last minute, and what an awesome surprise that was! So keep your fingers crossed and your favorite angel just might show up.
