I really love College Fashion Week – especially when it’s here in Boston, Her Campus’s hometown. With Boston as the only city that has seen College Fashion Week two years in a row, I was really curious to see how the turnout to the event would be. My oh my was I pleased! Last year College Fashion Week in Boston was the biggest of the four shows with over 700 registered attendees. We blew that number out of the water this year with a whopping 910 registered attendees for our show!
The Boston show was the perfect finale for our 2013 College Fashion Week Tour. It was big, it was bold, and it was beautiful. We worked with some of my absolute favorite local vendors including Elements Events (our DJs that kept the house rockin’ all night), The Estate Nightclub (our fabulous venue), Jenn Fredrickson (makeup artist extraordinaire), Be Styled (bodacious blowouts), and MiniLuxe (Boston’s top mani destination). McElroy Productions captured film all night, so look out for our highlight video!
The Boston show was particularly perfect for several reasons. For one, Sports Club/LA came in and totally took our fitness wear scene to another dimension with ah-mah-zing Fila fitness apparel and personal trainers that were total campus cuties. I was particularly obsessed with this tennis look:
The personal trainers came on stage and showed our models some fantastic fitness moves that they practiced right there on the runway! We had a ballet barre on the stage and showcased a wide variety of the types of training that Sports Club/LA offers. I personally am a HUGE fan of their Total Barre classes (they’re what I did to get in shape for my wedding!). All of our VIPs got a free 3 day pass to Sports Club/LA and one lucky attendee got a free one month membership!
Another reason that College Fashion Week Boston was so awesome was the uber amazing Neuro Sonic lounge. Here at HC Headquarters, we’ve been sipping on Neuro for some time now, using it to help us stay focused and energized throughout the day. The lounge came complete with an adorable mani cam and lots and lots of icy-cold Neuro Sonic!
We had a fabulous time backstage styling some cold weather appropriate looks from our partners at UsTrendy and accessorizing with Armed and Readi! I was OBSESSED with my dress from UsTrendy. Isn’t it amaze?? We had so much fun integrating Samsonite pieces into the show and showcasing Poppin’s uber-cute desk accessories during the Class scene.
The show was seamless and complete with incredible performances from BU’s Dear Abbeys and the Boston College Irish Dance Club.
I want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who came together to make College Fashion Week Boston, and the entire tour, happen. These include (but are not limited to): Chelsea Evans, Taylor King, Rachel Chanen, Sarah Heyl, Nick Osler, Kerry Coppinger, Brian Hawkins, and Jazzie Mercado.
I hope that you have loved College Fashion Week 2013 as much as I have. If you have any ideas for College Fashion Week 2014, send them my way! You can always reach me at windsor@hercampus.com. Get amped for #CFW 2014 – it’s going to be epic!
