If there is one trend that I would like…no, LOVE to see finally come to an end this summer it would be basic black, oversized sunglasses. (You can thank Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie for starting this seemingly never-ending trend.)
Here’s how I see it: collegiette’s™ you are gorgeous! Why hide your entire face behind giant, black frames? They don’t make you look half as mysterious, sexy, or trendy as much as they make you look like a bug. If you look like you’re in the Witness Protection Program then your sunglasses are probably too large! There’s a fine line between blocking the sun from your eyes, and blocking your entire face.
My biggest problem with this trend isn’t even that the lenses are on the large side. It’s that these sunglasses all pretty much look the same. They have gigantic, round lenses with a standard black frame. After so many seasons of the same blah design over and over again, I think it’s finally time to shake it up a little!
So, if you’re ready to join me in retiring those Paris Hilton sunglasses, here are five super cute new styles to try this summer!
Inspired by style icon Jackie Kennedy, these sunglasses are still large enough to block the sun but small enough to show off your face…and style!
