Attending an excellent law school, becoming a famous fashion blogger, accepting big-time modeling gigs and achieving powerful businesswomen status—what do these successes all have in common? Well, for one, they are some of the loftiest goals collegiettes and twentysomethings can aspire to. But that’s not all. According to one Margaret Zhang, these ambitions are all attainable—at the same time.
We’ll give you a second to compose yourself after letting out a chorus of gasps and furrowing your eyebrows in disbelief.
No, we aren’t joking, and yes, this writer, blogger, photographer, model and student extraordinaire is as real as she is young. At a sprightly 22, Margaret Zhang really does have it all.
And if you’re not yet inspired beyond disbelief, let’s delve a little deeper into Zhang’s incredible credentials.
Â
Zhang created her now-famous blog, Shine By Three, when she was just 16. Almost instantly, her gorgeous photography, dreamy outfits and impeccable writing voice stole the hearts of the industry, launching Zhang into early stardom. Her stylist social media persona is so prevalent and well-regarded that at some point, you’ve probably already seen this goddess’s images plastered in some fashion magazine or street-style site—we know we have!
Since, Margaret has successfully taken a multitude of roles by storm. According to her blog and website, she’s served as a consultant and content contributor to big-name brands such as Swarovski and Nike. She’s also worked with L’OrĂ©al, Clinique and Louis Vutton—which are just a few of the workplace connections she can happily namedrop.
When she’s not busy being featured in Teen Vogue, Elle.com, Harper’s Bazaar and Luckymag.com, she’s attending classes at the University of Sydney to complete a law degree. Oh, and if that’s not enough, she’s been spotlighted on Australian reality TV due to her incredible lifestyle.
Â
As a Sydney, Australia resident of Asian descent, Zhang has without-doubt faced the hardships of living life as a minority—making her journey and success all the more powerful and outstanding. Throughout her blog posts and blog FAQ page, she addresses stereotypes and rude comments with class, sass and intelligence.
Of course, she also offers words of wisdom that are equal parts relatable…
“Basically everything I do beautywise is to make me appear more awake!”—tell it, girl!
…and mentor-worthy:
“Set signpost goals in your mind of where you want to be in a year, two years, five years, and ten years. If what you’re doing at any point in time isn’t contributing to that, stop and do what you should be doing.”
All in all, we’re thoroughly amazed with Zhang’s contributions to the industry, and honestly can’t wait to see where she goes next. In the meantime, we’ll be enviously browsing her hilarious Twitter, drool-worthy Tumblr and perfect Instagram accounts.Â
