Mounds of crushed coffee cups, blood shot eyes, long nights in the library. It must be midterms! Everyone’s feeling the pressure to keep those academic spirits high. And as a result, your morning routine might have less “you time.” Luckily, there’s a way to look pulled together even if you’re feeling a little—or a lot—hectic. Here are easy hairstyles to get you through a long week… clean hair not required.
1. Head scarf
If you have oily hair, your roots probably start to get greasy after only one day. Kind of a bummer, we know. But you can have the best of both worlds with this cute updo from Keiko Lynn. Pull your hair back into a topknot; the messier, the better! Center the scarf on your head and double knot it in the front. Tuck the ends out of sight and there you have it!
2. Ultimate topknot
Speaking of topknots, this style is unique but still easy to accomplish. Gather your hair into a high ponytail. Back comb and tease it gently, giving it volume but not letting it get tangled. Then, just start pinning! Wrap strands of hair around the base of the ponytail and pin them in place. Build up the knot by overlapping the hair.
3. Fishtail bun
Dirty hair makes for perfect fishtail braids! Hair that hasn’t been shampooed can hold the intricate fishtail all day long. Try a new take by turning that braid into a really cool updo. Gather your hair into a ponytail. Braid the ponytail into a fishtail braid and tie it off with elastic. Widen the braid by gently pulling it apart with your fingers. Wrap the braid around the ponytail and pin generously.
4. Twisty buns
Another great way to pull your hair out of your face (and look like you totally tried this morning) is this twisty bun style. Simply separate your hair into two mini ponytails. Twist them and tie them off with elastic. Wrap each twist around the other to create a bun and pin in place.Â
Second-day hair has never looked better!
