Move over, glazed donut nails. There’s a new nail trend on the rise, and I’m running to recreate it. There have been so many nail trends this year that I’ve literally lost count. From the TikTok-viral velvet nails and abstract metallic nails to the Kardashian-dubbed balletcore mani, there’s been no shortage of nail art for people to recreate. And now, it’s time to thank Hailey Bieber once again for the latest nail trend, which she’s dubbed candy cane glazed nails.
Hailey Bieber showed her newest manicure on her Instagram on Dec. 15, and it’s giving major holiday vibes. She dubbed the look candy cane glazed nails, and I’m obsessed. The look entails Bieber’s signature chrome nail with a red french tip. Planning your holiday nail look is crucial for the Christmas season. Your nails make the perfect accessory for any holiday party outfit or makeup look, and this nail trend is perfect for this occasion!Â
How To Get Candy Cane Glazed Nails
Candy cane glazed nails are super easy to do. According to an Instagram post by Hailey’s nail artist, Zola Ganzorist, she gave a detailed list of what products to use so you can recreate this look right at home.
First, she prepped the nails with a base gel coat. Next, She applied one coat of OPI GelColor in Funny Bunny ($9). Then to get the candy cane french tip, she used OPI GelColor in Big Apple Red ($11). For the glazed look, she added a thin layer of OPI Chrome Effects No-Cleanse Top Coat ($16). She also added OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can on top, which, unfortunately, is sold out everywhere, thanks to Bieber. Lastly, Ganzorist applied a shiny gel top coat to complete the look. Simple as that! This trend looks great on all nail shapes from almond to stiletto. You can pair this nail look with a bold red lip like Hailey did, or wear it any way you want.
Since many of these products are sold to professionals only, here are some dupes that look just as great for gel and non-gel nail polish lovers. The MEMEDA Nail Gel Polish in Milky White ($8) is a great dupe for OPI’s GelColor in Funny Bunny. The OPI Nail Lacquer, Neutral Nail Polish, Nude Nail ($11) is another perfect non-gel option.
As for the red french tip, the DND Soak Off Gel in Ferrari Red)= ($10) is an highly-rated dupe for OPI Gelcolor in Big Apple Red. If you want a non-gel version, OPI Nail Lacquer in Big Apple Red ($11) is just as great!
And now for the signature part of the look. The PrettyDiva Mermaid Chrome Nail Powder ($13) is a nearly-identical dupe for the sold out OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can. The Allstarry Chrome Nail Powder ($9) is another popular dupe for achieving Hailey Bieber glazed nails, and can be used without gel polish. Happy holidays!
