Broad City’s Ilana Glazer and comedian Phoebe Robinson are the guests of honor for Wildfang’s new limited edition collaboration. Aptly called “Yas, Queen Yas”, the collection includes tote bags, snapbacks, notebooks, t-shirts and bomber jackets, all created by designer Robin Eisenberg.
Glazer gave Refinery29 some details about the line’s conception. “The line was inspired by the ‘YAS QUEEN’ phrase, [which] originates from queer people of color in the 1980’s drag ball culture, and dat vogue-ing tip.” Basically, you can think of this merch as a new way to celebrate today’s intersectional feminist movement!
The YQY merch definitely gives us nostalgia at it’s best––you can almost smell the cigarette smoke and leather of the ’80s with these designs. Colorful neons add a bold attitude that every queen should possess, and with the signature YQY embroidered, you can practically feel the crown on your head.
