Mission Mascara Week 5
After a few of you said you’d like to read about Dior mascaras, I tested out some samples Dior sent along—the cult favorite DiorShow Mascara and the Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum—and am here with my verdict!
When you hear the word Dior, you may think of two things right away: high quality and high-end. Dior is one of the most famous brands out there and it gained its great reputation for a reason: The brand does produce great quality products. DiorShow did not disappoint me and I now understand why it’s a favorite of many makeup artists. The mascara gives great lift and really lengthens lashes, while providing great overall lash coverage.
As you all know, I love lots of drama when it comes to my lashes, and DiorShow delivered a very healthy dose. I really loved the thick brush and was impressed at how little clumping there was even with such room for mascara to get caked onto the large brush. The mascara doesn’t really run and lasts a long time.
Now, what about Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum? The Maximizer is the first “active serum” mascara primer, and serves double duty: It gives your mascara a nice, even base and it nourishes your lashes at the same time (the hydrolyzed soy proteins in the serum help promote long-term lash growth).
It’s going to sound like a cliché, but the Maximizer really maximizes the mascara’s performance. It acts as a great base for your mascara and I like that it also works to keep your lashes healthy.
DiorShow Mascara runs for $24 at Sephora and Diorshow Maximizer goes for $28. So if there’s one major con to these products, it would have to be the price. Of course, if you don’t want to spend so much on your mascara, there are plenty of others out there that are high-quality as well. But if you’re willing to pay a little extra, both of these products are high quality.
