Resident IT girl Kendall Jenner is grazing the front of this month’s Harper Bazaar, her first cover this year. The spread features the 22-year-old model in gorgeous ensembles that are wrapped in clear waterproof coat. The most stunning photo is arguably the one where Kendall poses completely nude, wearing only a dark red lip and the waterproof wrap.Â
The accompanying article features a casual interview conducted by Cara Delevingne, aka Jenner’s lowkey bestie. In the interview, both share their thoughts about how the current industry is changing, and Kendall opens up about how she found her way through it. Contrary to popular belief, Kendall describes her time gaining momentum as a model as difficult. “I still had to go to all the castings, I still had to go meet all the photographers, I still had to do all of that to get to where I am now,” she explains. “There wasn’t a step taken out just because I had social media. I still have 12-hour days, I still have even 24-hour days sometimes; I still have to do all those things. We don’t work any less hard than the ’90s models did when they were young.”Â
When Delivingne asks if she felt accomplished at such a young age, Kendall responds, “I feel like the life I live is extraordinary in a lot of ways but that it also comes with a lot of responsibilities. I’ve had to grow up pretty fast and deal with situations most 22-year-olds aren’t really put into. There are days and weeks and months when you just don’t stop.” With major criticism surrounding her rise to fame in the fashion industry, Kendall describes what that’s been like and how much pressure she has experienced to overcome that, explaining that she “ha[s] such debilitating anxiety because of everything going on that [she] literally wakes up in the middle of the night with full-on panic attacks”.Â
However, Kendall speaks highly of her friends and the “creative, crazy group of people” she surrounds herself with––including Kanye and his love for art. With a passion for photography (check out the LOVE cover she shot), Kendall has also delved into interior designing as well, describing her moments with designer Martyn Bullard as “what made [her] fall in love with art.”
