We’re Only 2 Weeks Into June & I’ve Already Found My Favorite Pride Looks

It’s officially June, which means not only have we made it halfway through the year, but it’s also Pride Month! This year, Pride Month marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots and is set to be one of the most memorable commemorations of LGBTQ+ pride. Pride parades and events happening all month long have been filled with happiness, hope, and some extremely stylish fits

If there’s one thing that’s for certain, Pride parades never fail to play host to a myriad of colors, polychromatic prints and iridescent glitter. Here are my fave looks from festivals and parades across the world so far. Get some inspo for the rest of June!

Wear the rainbow

Nothing says Pride like rainbows, and we’re bound to see plenty of rainbow-adorned clothing everywhere. We’re obsessed with this rainbow maxi dress and vans combo. Recreate it with this striped dress and a pair of rainbow-hued Chucks! Proceeds from Converse’s Pride collection supports its longstanding LGBTQ+ partners worldwide.

Actress and activist Jari Jones fully embraces color with these chic striped denim shorts and shirt layered over a cute cropped tee.

If you’re not ready to dress head-to-toe in technicolor, pare a rainbow crop top with a classic pair of denim shorts for a subtler, summery Pride look!

This rainbow tee and tennis skirt look is super cute, but what makes this look even better is the color-coordinated hair-clips and beads.

I’m loving this high-voltage, ultra-bright rainbow biker shorts and crop vest combo.

Make a statement

Alongside the kaleidoscope of colors, our favorite Pride looks deliver empowering messages and slogans that promote equal rights for LGBTQ+ communities. While some brands seem to be jumping on the diversity bandwagon, using rainbow-colored logos and slogan as an opportunistic marketing tool, others are showing support by donating to organizations dedicated to achieving equality for LGBTQ+ communities. American Apparel and Nordstrom are both donating 100% of the proceeds from their Pride capsule collections to organizations in support of queer rights.

Parade in tie-dye

Tie-dye is a major trend for 2019 and its hippie connotations and androgynous appeal make it wonderfully wearable across LGBTQ+ communities. The ‘60s trend is making a revival in the context of right-wing politics and the era of Trump, representing defiance against conservative attitudes, and symbolizing freedom and hope. We love this pairing of tie-dye with on-trend biker shorts, statement shades and sneakers. Plus, it couldn’t be easier to recreate with tie-dye t-shirts and sweatshirts making an appearance everywhere on the high street right now.

Sport the season’s standout trend

If there’s one sartorial trend there’s no escaping this season, it’s neon. Highlighter neon is also here to stay, so if you’re not one for wearing all the colors of the rainbow, stick to one standout color this Pride Month, like this Pride street-styler in hot pink. Enjoy Pride and stay colorful. Have fun!
