I remember little fifth grade me going to get my haircut and thinking it was such a genius idea to donate it to Locks of Love. Who wouldn’t want to help kids while keeping good hair from going to waste?! Not me.
It seems like Lele Pons had the same idea, but couldn’t follow through. Lele posted a picture on Instagram of her new short hair look while her friend held the “cut” ponytail. The post was later deleted when fans noticed something was weird in the picture.
Care to explain how you chopped off your “hair” and “donated” it @lelepons?? Last time I checked you can’t donate extensions. pic.twitter.com/mUvckfllDa

Organizations that take hair donations don’t allow treated hair (i.e. blonde or colored in any way). Lele’s hair was not only heavily treated, but if you look closely at the pic, her ponytail is totally made up of extensions. So is she lying to get attention? Or did she legitimately try to donate hair and it just didn’t work out?
Lele’s heart was (hopefully) in the right place as she took to Twitter to clear things up…kind of.
1/ To help clear any assumptions, I cut my hair with the intention of donating it.

2/ Sadly after trying, I learned charities who donate wigs don’t accept color treated hair.

3/ So I’m finding other ways to help those affected by hair loss b/c of cancer. This is still a priority for me.

I mean, she still lied originally, but she did bring attention to a good cause that she cares about. Couldn’t she have just not posted anything at all instead of posting something fake?
