Summer makeup can be tricky. On one hand, there’s blue eyeshadow, summery glosses, beach waves and ALL the bronzer. But, on the other hand, there’s the strong possibility that all of your hard work and makeup will melt off immediately in the summer heat. Lucky for you, Urban Decay’s new Beached Collection may be the perfect solution.
With a collection of bronzed tones and pops of complementary colors, you’ll be able to rock this collection all summer long without the fear that your makeup will end up smudged all over your face (because mascara on your cheeks is never a cute look). Urban Decay is already famous for its cult-faves that are designed to lock your makeup in place all day (and night!) such as the All Nighter Setting Spray ($32 at Urban Decay) and Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($22 at Urban Decay).Â
The collection was inspired by last year’s launch of the matte Beached Bronzers ($35 at Urban Decay) and the view outside of Urban Decay co-founder Wende’s beach home, Steve Kassajikian, Urban Decay’s global makeup artist, told Cosmopolitan. The entire collection will be available online at Ulta Beauty on May 8 and in-store (at Ulta Beauty and Urban Decay) on May 10. Here’s everything included in the collection, so you can start planning (and saving) in advance.
1. Summer In A Palette
This is the perfect palette for summer. Instead of simply having neutral shades, it has warm-toned reds, which pair perfectly with a bronzer for a glowing look. What makes this palette unique is also the two blue shades, which are classic for the summer and pair nicely with the rest of the colors in this palette. The best part is the small size of the palette, which is low-maintenance enough to travel with!Â
2. Metallic Liners That Won’t BudgeÂ
Have you ever tried to do a traditional cat eye during the summer? If you haven’t, I’ll spare you the details. Just know that it’s not pretty or fun. Change up your everyday look with these metallic, bronzed pencils that will give your eyes the perfect pop of color without looking overdone.Â
3. Lipsticks That Last Longer Than Your Summer Fling
That name hits a bit close to home – don’t you think? Kassajikian dished to Cosmopolitan about the meaning behind each of the unique names. “‘Tower 1’ is named after a lifeguard’s lookout tower on the beach—it’s a sheer neutral with pink undertones that has a bronze-golden shimmer to it.” Meanwhile, apparently “‘Heatwave’ has more of a metallic finish to it and leaves your lips with a glossy finish that’s more of a bronze hue, and ‘100 Degrees’ is a gorgeous bright sheer shade that’s almost like a tinted lip balm.”
Let the countdown begin for summer… or summer makeup, at least.
