10 Valentine’s Day Date Night Outfit Ideas From TikTok That Are Sweet & Spicy

February is coming up super quick, which means it is time to embrace all things red, pink, and heart-shaped. Valentine’s Day comes at the perfect time in the winter season to inspire us all to ditch the winter sweats that I know we’ve all been wearing for the past month (not forever, just for a day, I promise), and wear a cute dress or festive set instead. If you’re anything like me, you think a holiday is the perfect time to go buy a new outfit piece for your closet. After not buying any clothes in January, I’m ready to go find something new! There is so much to find online, but I find that a lot of small businesses near me have curated Valentine’s Day selections, so be sure to shop local, too. You just may find the perfect dress, and one that’s more unique.

To me, Valentine’s Day is not only about embracing love, but also about embracing your femininity. This year, I challenge you to truly wear your heart on your sleeve (or tights) and be bold in your relationship, dating goals, or style choices. Regardless of your relationship status, here are 10 outfit ideas from TikTok to wear on your Feb. 14 date night, whether you’re with your partner, taking yourself out to dinner, or having a Galentine’s Day party!

Long-sleeve bodycon Dress

This long-sleeve maxi dress ($30, Amazon) is the perfect way to feel dressed up without having to put too much time or effort into your look. Add your favorite small earrings, a few rings, and a pair of black heels (or white sneakers!) and you’re ready to go. Both red and pink will have you looking sexy, but I think the pink is so much fun!

If your date night plans feel casual but you still want to dress up and feel a little festive, throw on your fave jeans and sneakers, but add a cute red or pink top! I love that this creator chose a baby pink top ($40, Urban Outfitters) because it feels ultra-feminine and oh-so-sweet.

Heart Tights

For the girls who love to wear mini skirts and dresses into the winter, these heart tights ($23, Amazon) are perfect for your Valentine’s Day date. This creator wore them with a red sweater dress, but I think these tights are perfect for an all-black V-day look, too. Pair them with black boots, a black mini skirt, and a cozy knit sweater, and you’re ready for dinner!

For the girls braving the cold to go out this Valentine’s Day, try a cozy red or pink sweater ($148, Anthropologie). It’s automatically festive, but is sure to keep you warm. If you need more layers, throw on a fitted turtleneck ($35, Madewell) underneath for extra warmth. Pair your sweater with jeans to keep it casual, or wear leather pants to dress it up.

While we all know and love the little black dress, try swapping it out for a little red dress ($68, Princess Polly) on Feb. 14. Keep warm in your mini dress with sheer black tights and tall black boots. This is a fail-proof option that you’ll feel hot in, and is sure to have your partner speechless.

Red Scarf

If you’re going out straight from class, work, or your internship, you probably can’t wear a sexy red dress — and that’s OK! Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday this year, and that can make things tricky. So, just add a cozy red scarf ($10, Old Navy) to whatever look you are wearing that day. It’s simple, but you’ll at least feel festive walking up to the restaurant. You can listen to “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” on the way there and fully embrace a main character moment.

If your V-Day date looks like Uber Eats and a movie, well, you’re a girl after my own heart. Cozy up to your partner in this adorable matching cherry set ($126, SKIMS). It also comes in a short-sleeve and shorts set if you live somewhere warm. You’ll be so comfy, but still feel like you’re celebrating the day!

Pops Of Red

If you don’t own a ton of red and don’t feel like you’ll ever wear it post-Valentine’s Day, don’t buy it! You want to fill your closet with pieces you love and will want to wear again. Instead, look in your closet for a neutral dress and spice it up with red accessories. That could be a red bag, red shoes, a red coat, a red bow in your hair, red earrings, or some combination of those options. A faux leather maxi with a red bag is a stand-out choice, too.

Wearing a lace top is an easy way to dress up whatever bottoms you’re wearing, and it feels so sweet! Lace manages to be ultra-feminine, but also very sexy, making it the perfect option Valentine’s Day. I love the look of a cream lace top ($58, Free People) with leather pants and a black boot. Add a red lip to the look and you’re out the door.

Matching Lingerie

If you know your evening is ending in the bedroom, try on a matching lingerie set ($30, Adore Me) for later. All red is super spicy, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to try something new.
