Ah, Valentine’s Day, the one day of the year where, apparently, I have to look cute. While staring at all the reds, pinks and glitters on my vanity this morning, I realized that deciding how you want to style yourself this day can often be a struggle – how do you nail a look that’s perfect for the mood, without being too extra?
Whether you’re going on a dinner date with your SO, enjoying Galentine’s Day with your besties, hanging out with your family, or even if you’re simply enjoying your own alone time, here are some makeup ideas from Instagram that you can use for any occasion.
1. Classic red lip
You can never go wrong with this one. A red lip looks amazing on it’s own with understated makeup, or you can pair it with heavy brown eyeshadow to make it more dramatic.
2. Cherry blossom tones
With products from her Classic Blossom Collection, Kim Kardashian West presented an absolutely stunning look that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. My favorite part is definitely the berry lips and noticeable blush.
3. Pop of pink
This makeup is scalable and buildable. While you could definitely leave it as a simple pink hue, adding a hint of hot pink on the inner-eye corners makes it more striking for the holiday. Need tips on how to execute this? Kylie Jenner recently uploaded a makeup tutorial on this look.
4. All-pink everything
If you’re really vibing the pink tones this year, you could make a look by incorporating the shade into every aspect of your makeup. The wavy hair complementing the face helps the makeup appear all the more lively and festive for complete styling.
5. Simple, but effective
You absolutely do not have to feel pressured to go full-on glam for this day. A combination of bronzer, a nude lip and dainty winged liner can still look super elegant for whatever you have planned.
6. Glittery eyes
I absolutely love this as inspo for a date-night! What really stands out to me is the glittery liquid shadow, because I feel like the bronze hues give the makeup a whole new meaning.
7. Bold purple lip
If you aren’t really into pinks and reds, you could also try out a statement purple lip. I’d recommend using this specific lavender shade, because it can work for either a daytime or nighttime mood. The lipstick used in this photo is the Matte Moiselle in the shade One of the Boyz, from Fenty Beauty.
