Winnie Harlow Had To Correct a Tabloid That Said She Was Wearing Makeup & I’m Truly Shook About It

You’ve heard of “no-makeup makeup” before, but probably not the reverse. Winnie Harlow is now one of the few who was thought to be wearing makeup when, in fact, she was totally bare-faced.

Harlow was leaving the gym when The Daily Mail managed to snap a photo of her and captioned it, “She highlighted her natural beauty with a palette of makeup that included a simple smoky eye and nude lip.” How you get a smoky eye from a bare face, I’m not sure, but Harlow found the whole thing hilarious.

“HAHA! When the tabloids assume ur wearing makeup when ur not,” she tweeted on July 26. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

POPSUGAR and Allure are referring to her response as a “clapback,” and, uh, I wouldn’t go that far, but it is pretty funny. We’d probably all take this as a compliment too, if we were ever in the same situation. According to Allure, Harlow actually rarely wears makeup, preferring instead to focus on skincare. I guess this must be a sign that that’s paying off.

In short, is Harlow #beautygoals? I think so. If I could leave the house with nothing on my face and have people compliment my look, I’d be a very happy girl.
