Zac Posen and BCBG Max Azria: Get The Runway Look!

When you see runway models all dolled up, a lot of times the whole scene seems so expensive, so exotic and so fabulous all at once. You can’t help but marvel at their amazing (and sometimes downright crazy) outfits and feel as if it’s all so out of reach. But one thing they’re all wearing is accessible to a college girl on a budget: makeup!

Maybelline New York has been creating some fabulous looks for high profile runway shows, and Chrissy’s Beauty School is here to show you some of the highlights and show you how you can create drastically different looks when using the same products. Take a look at these beautiful looks and you’ll see that you, too, can look like a model fresh off the runway (without breaking the bank)!

Exhibit A: Z Spoke by Zac Posen

At Zac Posen’s show the other day, the makeup emphasized dramatic and vivid color in three distinct beauty looks. “The makeup had a strong vibe with pops of color and a little edgy playfulness to it,” says Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist, Charlotte Willer, who was at the head of the backstage team. “I used bright, bold shades on eyes and cheeks and lots of flirty lashes to complement the femininity, humor and sex appeal of Zac’s designs.”

How to get the look:

Volum’ Express the Falsies Mascara: To create high drama, flirty lashes, opt for this volumizing mascara (a Mission Mascara favorite!) that Charlotte used on models backstage.

Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Give Me Gold, Copper Chic and Sapphire Siren Palettes: These brightly hued palettes provided maximum eye impact on the runway. Charlotte applied Sapphire Siren all over the lid and extended to the brow bone for one look, and she created a more muted color statement by extending Give me Gold and Copper Chic outward in a dramatic cat eye.

Color Sensational Lipcolor in Very Cherry, Park Avenue Pink and Backstage #4 (a bright orange created specifically for fashion week): Charlotte covered lips in bold, bright color with shades of cherry red, hot pink and bright orange.

Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: For a soft, luminous base, apply this all over your face.

Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil
Charlotte used this pencil to create a wild and sexy brow that would help anchor an in-your-face look.

Exhibit B: BCBG Max Azria

Similar to the fashion collection, the makeup at BCBG Max Azria was quite effortless.  “The look was barely there, confident and natural, characterized by soft, neutral tones and no mascara,” says Charlotte.

How to get the look:

Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: To achieve a poreless finish with natural luminosity, apply foundation over your face like a moisturizer.

Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil The brows took center stage on models’ faces since they were wearing no mascara. This pencil helped maintain a soft and easy brow look.

Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow in Green with Envy: For a muted effect, Charlotte applied a creamy golden shade from this palette all over the eyes.

Color Sensational Lipstain in In the Buff: Foro a shiny yet not glossy lip, follow with a layer of lip balm.
