12 Black-Owned Sexual Health Businesses You Need on Your Radar

A part of genuine allyship is supporting Black-owned businesses. The sexual wellness industry seems to be predominantly run by white people, or at least the companies you typically hear about are.

The World Health Organization describes sexual health as “a state of physical, mental, and social well-being in relation to one’s sexuality.” Taking care of your sexual health can involve education, experimentation, and exploring sexuality. And just so you, know, sexual health businesses are a key factor in helping all people take care of their bods. As such, it’s about damn time to shine a light on Black-owned sexual wellness companies making a difference out there. Keep an eye out for them on your own, but if you need a place to start, check out these 12 that I’m obsessed with.

1. Bedroom Kandi (@bedroomkandi)

Bedroom Kandi, created by singer and former Real Housewife Kandi Burruss, intends to empower its customers and promote self-love through sexuality. It offers a variety of sex toys, lube, and bath products. A unique aspect of this brand is that there is a consultant program, where one can educate the public on sexual wellness, and even host Bedroom Kandi parties, where one can invite a consultant over! Honestly, I’m really digging the idea of a party.

This is the ONLY condom company founded by a member of the Black community: Jason K. Panda, who wanted to provide better access to safe sex options. These condoms are made of the highest quality and are odor-free. A blessing.

3. The Honey Pot Company (@thehoneypotco)

This is a badass, cruelty-free company with all-natural products made by women. The Honey Pot has a line of feminine care products that cleanse, protect, and balance your “honey pot.” Literally everything one would want from a sexual health company, they do it. Cruelty-free, gynaecologically tested, no toxins, and 100% natural. A dream come true, to be honest.

 4. Nene FemHealth (@nenefemhealth)

This brand connects women, young girls, and their allies to their femininity by providing healthy and plant-based products. Their site has an array of makeup, libido products, herbal supplements, fertility products, and tools to help with kegel exercises.

 5. V for Vadge

This brand possesses a large range of high-quality toys and sexy games for a good night in with your partner. The thought of a sexy game is incredibly intriguing, you can’t deny that. It’s basically an antidote for a sexual rut.

6. New York Toy Collective (@newyorktoycollective)

The New York Toy Collective is Black-owned, queer-owned, and an absolutely amazing brand that everyone needs. This is a group of artisans that create an array of intimacy products for all genders. Said artisans have a range of STP products, binders, accessories, toys, and more unique offerings than anyone could think of. Honestly, it taught me that there’s a lot more than vibrators and sexy dice out there.

 7. LyLyth (@lylyth_official)

This brand will help people explore different realms of one’s own sexuality with handcrafted toys, bondage tools, and insanely sexy lingerie sets. Right from seeing LyLyth’s site, I fell in love with their empowering vibe. I now have this site bookmarked.

8. Organic Loven (@organloven)

All of Organic Loven’s products such as lubricants, body washes, and more are eco-friendly, have no chemicals, and are certified organic. Along with some pretty stylish toys, a lot comes with super handy education kits. A lot of things about sex scare people, myself included. Things like anal and BDSM are intimidating, but Organic Loven has those kits, a blog, and so many resources to make it all a million times less scary.

For one thing, this brand has a bunch of insanely sexy and luxurious lingerie sets. Anya Lust also has online workshops (for yoga and tantric date night), sleek sex toys, and everything in between for the safest and healthiest sex life. Having access to wellness classes, especially during these unprecedented times, is something everyone could use right now.

This brand’s site categorizes the tools and toys from everything like kink, prostate, and more. Not only does this help a lot when learning about each kink, but it makes the whole shopping process more fun.
