Don’t be embarrassed — sometimes, there’s a new smell coming from “down there.” No, I’m not talking about feet: I’m talking about that all-too-distinctive smell that might come after your period that only you can notice. And while some people may try things like putting lotion on their inner thighs or spraying perfume on their ankles to mask the scent, you may be interested in trying something more natural.
I’ve been there before, and believe me when I tell you that slight vaginal odor is completely natural. In fact, during your cycle, that scent is indicative of a “healthy” vagina. So, unless the smell is “fishy”, strong, or abnormal (in that case, schedule an appointment with your gyno), vaginal odor is incredibly normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
However, some TikTok users have created a simple drink recipe that claims to give your vagina a little refresh. Whether you drink it before a hookup or simply to boost your own vaginal confidence, this viral recipe is full of vitamins and minerals. I call it, Kitty Juice. Meow, amiright?
The Kitty Juice trend has been around for quite a bit, but recently, it’s been having quite the resurgence on TikTok. The recipe is as follows: Equal parts cranberry juice (the natural kind, not the cocktail kind), pineapple juice (again: the natural kind, not the cocktail kind), and water. While a lot of users have been putting their own twist on the trend by adding honey, lime juice, and/or apple cider vinegar, the base of the juice is really that simple.
what does cranberry juice and pineapple juice do for your body?
While also being quite delicious, Kitty Juice is said to have some serious benefits when it comes to vaginal health. Cranberry juice (again, the real stuff — no sugar added) is full of powerful antioxidants that help fight off infections in and around your bladder, urinary tract, and vagina. Not only that, but cranberry juice maybe also help prevent UTIs.
According to TikTok myths (so, take that for what it is), pineapple is also said to make your private bits taste better. And while there’s no real scientific backing on that, I can definitely say that it tastes great in combination with cranberry juice. I’ll take 10, please!
