Happy Saturday, collegiettes! This morning I actually got up for a booty call. No, not that kind of booty call. The Booty Call Challenge was created by the ladies at Tone It Up, who also set up the amazing workout plan for SELF’s Drop 10! The idea is to be active right when you wake up in the morning. Walk, run, do yoga… whatever it is you want to do to get in a great workout before starting the day. I’ve been in the habit recently of going to the gym in the evening (only because my alarm clock and I are not friends in the morning…), but since I’ll be busy all day and night I knew I wouldn’t have time for a workout today unless it was bright and early this morning. And by bright and early I mean at 10:30 a.m…. hey, it’s the weekend!
So today I forced myself out of bed and went to the gym. Since everyone else was probably still asleep or recovering from their Friday night festivities, I had the place mostly to myself. It was AWESOME. Any time after 8 p.m. tends to be when busy college kids can fit a workout into their schedules, so it’s usually a struggle to find a machine. But not today! Getting up and active this morning also meant I could change the gym TV to watch the Cinderella Story marathon on ABC Family and Workaholics without worrying about being a remote hog. I not only feel revved up and ready to have a productive day, but I don’t have to worry about fitting in a workout later. That’s a win-win situation. I encourage you to try a booty call! It’s good to switch up your usual routine and it definitely has it’s perks.
Don’t forget to weigh-in this week for the DietBet pot, ladies! I’m excited to check-in with everyone Tuesday and let y’all know how my weigh-in goes. Follow me on Twitter @ms_mojohnson or comment below to tell me what your favorite morning workout is! Have a great weekend!
