So I overslept again,  which—you guessed it—meant I skipped breakfast. I know old habits are hard to break, but honestly, I think I’m starting to form good habits too since starting this journey. Like with this morning—I’m never hungry for breakfast, hence why I never eat it. Today, I actually missed eating in the morning, which is never a feeling I have. I think I’m finally starting to train myself to crave what’s good for me. Hopefully that means SELF’s Jump Start Diet is truly boosting my once dormant metabolism.

I also decided to take advice from fellow blogger, Ally who said yesterday in her post that wearing cute sporty gear (like my new outfit from New Balance) to class can actually encourage you to work out. Not only did it motivate me to make sure I made time for my workout again tonight, but it also boosted my confidence tremendously. I received tons of compliments on my outfit, which totally felt great.  This probably was the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever worn that actually received any notice from people. No more oversized sweatshirts and old, dingey sweatpants for me!me

Also, I tried a new and simple dessert today called “Fun Fondue” from SELF’s Jump Start Diet. Basically all you do is take 2 tablespoons of almond butter and 2 teaspoons of raw honey, mix together and microwave for 20 seconds. The combination gives you the best dipping sauce for apples and banana slices. Not only was it a sweet treat, but honestly, I was a little hungrier today because I skipped breakfast. I was still feeling the rumblies after dinner and this dessert really hit the spot by filling me up without making me go into a hybrid carb and sugar coma like other desserts normally would.

I’m happy to say that I think I’m starting to really get the hang of this diet.  It’s really an enjoyable process and not hard to keep up with at all. However, planning is a must. While I don’t think I did too great planning this week with exams getting in the way of my cooking, I’m determined to make sure I don’t get swept away by the waves of temptation while in Florida next week visiting family. I’ll be sure to blog every step of the way about how to still be on vacation and keep to your diet.

In the meantime, what are your plans for Spring Break? And, how do you think your plans will affect your healthy eating and fitness goals?
