Happy Friday!!
Today marks the 4th day of the beginning of my journey to lose my freshman 15 with Her Campus and SELF magazine. Let me start out with saying how thankful I am for the overwhelming amount of support from my family, friends, and classmates. I am truly blessed to have you all in my life, so thank you!
Getting down to business, this week was a tad crazy with starting a new term and work schedule. I flew in from Miami late Monday night, giving me a total of zero time to get groceries before a full day of class and work. When I did find time I went to Trader Joe’s. Let me take this sentence to say I LOVE TRADER JOE’S. They have so many healthy organic options for an affordable price, so if you have one near you, definitely check it out!
One thing I noticed this week was that I was much more successful when I would plan out my meals for the entire day in the morning – I had a goal in mind and wanted to finish it. DUH. I don’t know how many times I have told others to make goals to accomplish something, and here I am not. So today, let’s make some goals. (You did sign up to do this with me..ya?). If not, do so now, here: http://www.self.com/drop10?mbid=synd_hercampus
Here are my goals for the next 8 weeks. My overall goal is obviously is to get healthier and lose 15lbs. -but here is the HOW:
Daily goal: Plan meals for the entire day each morning while enjoying my morning coffee.
Week 1 Goal (today through April 12th): Workout for at least 30 minutes each day – plan this TODAY for the entire next week.
By end of program: Lose 15lbs. However, please know that I am NOT focused on a number – but more how I feel!! A healthy life is not defined by any certain weight, so I want to feel healthy and great. Muscle also weighs more than fat, so let me be more specific on this goal. I want to fit into my size 4 pants. *ignores all doubts in my head* WE CAN DO THIS.
What are your goals? Make them SMART: Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timely. Share your goals with me, please! Studies show that if you state your goals to others (ahem, hello9) then you will be more successful. Do it.
Have a great weekend! I am off to a meditation class – noting that I am ms. antsy pantsy, this should be interesting. Wish me luck.
Xo,
Hayley
