Lose the Freshman 15: Memorial Day Sales

Hey guys,

Happy Memorial Day! And more importantly, Happy Memorial Day Sale! I hope you guys ate as healthy as possible during your BBQs. Today is also my sister’s birthday so my mother and I took her to J.C. Penney to go shopping. She got to pick out whatever she wanted and we would buy it for her. Thankfully my sister didn’t want much.

I also bought a couple hundred of dollars worth of clothes for myself. I can’t help it, I have a problem. I usually hate shopping but today I really enjoyed it. I tried on lots of different clothes and while I wasn’t completely in love with the way I looked in the mirror, I did like it. I was able to wear clothes that I never could before. When I first started this program, almost seven weeks ago, I wore a size 16. As a 5’2″, 20 year old, that wasn’t something I was proud of. Now I wear a size 12. In seven weeks, I dropped 4 dress sizes! I’m really impressed with myself. I am also a size medium shirt, instead of being a size large.

I even bought a pair of jean shorts. I used to have a pair of jean shorts that I used to wear when I was smaller. Once I started to gain weight I stopped being able to wear them and was too self-concious to wear small shorts. I’m glad that now I have the self-confidence to wear some again. The best part of this program is definitely the confidence I’ve gained.

Another good part of this program was understanding portion control. I’m so glad to have learned these different things.

Today I start Insanity something I wouldn’t have tried 8-weeks ago. I’m really nervous about it but I’m willing to try. Apparently the people who do the 2 month program have great success and loose lots of weight and tone their body. I’m hoping to have great success with the program but as my best friend told me, I just have to make sure I work at my own pace and not go too hard.

Super excited for what will come next.

Love ya,
Danielle
