Hello Collegiettes!
Today marks the last day of our Lose the Freshman 15 challenge! I can’t believe how fast these past 8 weeks flew by. I have learned so much about health, friends, and myself. I have been amazed by the amazing support you all have given me throughout the past 8 weeks.
The results are in. I started at 163 and now weight 156. I lost 7 pounds, averaging a little less than a pound per week. But guess what, during these 8 weeks I am proud of myself. I went through a lot of changes that would normally lead me to stress eat and skip workouts. I went through a breakup with long time boyfriend, and didn’t call my friends Ben & Jerry over. Worked my butt through my last term of my undergraduate career, travelled almost every weekend, heavy work schedule, and even with an injury that got in the way of my workout schedule. While at some points in my life this may have made me throw in the towel, I took them as an opportunity to grow. As cheesy as it sounds, having these obstacles and life changes really did make me stronger.
Since I am at the Hospital with my best friend, I am using a picture I took last week while in Bend, Oregon! I still have a little ways to go, but I definitely feel much healthier all around.
I really couldn’t have stuck with this without the support of my friends, family, online community, SELF Magazine, and the other amazing bloggers! Dietbet was such a fun way to keep me motivated, I LOVE my New Balance gear, and I’m officially addicted to Zico Coconut water after hard workouts to replenish.
While this challenge is over for now, my health journey is not. I am on a lifestyle change, not a diet. I still want to continue toning up until I reach my goal. The journey of health is never over, so for all of you that got moving and healthy with me, do not give up! Keep at it.
Thank you for the wonderful past 8 weeks! Will miss you!
