It’s Time To Get Down & Dirty With These V-Day Sex Positions

It’s the season to get down and dirty, because that’s what Valentine’s Day is truly all about, if you ask me. Feb. 14 is around the corner, which means romance and sex is on everyone’s minds (including mine). Whether you have romantic plans (even if you’re reconnecting with an ex for a one-night stand) or just planning on calling your hookup to get your mind off of being single, chances are that you’re planning something that involves getting comfy between the sheets — and some Valentine’s Day sex positions.

ICYMI, Valentine’s Day is not the time for boring sex. It’s the holiday of love, which makes it the perfect time to spice things up in the bedroom to deepen your connection with your partner… even if it’s just for the night.

There are so many Valentine’s Day gifts that are boring or will die after a few days (who decided roses that die symbolize love?), so skip the shopping and give your partner what they really want: an orgasm with you. In 2024, V-Day falls on a Wednesday so it makes sense to celebrate the day in bed — after all, they call it hump day for a reason. So, grab your partner, FWB, or dating app hookup, put on something red, whisper something flirty, and get excited to see sparks with these Valentine’s Day sex positions. That outfit you were planning for dinner would look better on the floor, anyway.

Put a Bow On It

This is the perfect time to try a little bit of bondage, so grab some silky red ribbon (or order ropes online) to add some spice to the sheets. Lay your partner on their back with their hands over their head and tied to the headboard at the wrist. They get on top of them so they are penetrating you from underneath, straddling their hips. It adds a little extra tension since your partner can look, but can’t touch. Is it hot in here already?

The Treat

Valentine’s Day is such a treat-centered holiday, and that sugar rush deserves a moment in the bedroom. So, grab a can of whipped cream or chocolate sauce and get comfy on your back with your legs spread wide and your partner penetrating you from a push-up position. Have them cover your erogenous zones in something sweet, so they can have a little extra sweetness while pleasuring you.

Over The Counter

I hate waiting until after dinner for sex. It makes no sense to me. Plus, I’m a girl who loves a quickie. (Sue me, OK?) So, my favorite position for Valentine’s Day is bent over the counter on the way out of the house. To do this, stand with your hands on the counter and lean forward while your partner penetrates from behind. This one will definitely have you seeing stars. (Bonus points if you have a dress or a skirt on.)

Lotus

Valentine’s Day is definitely the most romantic holiday so a little extra love in the bedroom will go a long way. Have your partner sit cross-legged in the middle of the bed, sit on their lap with your chest against theirs, and have them penetrate you from underneath. Wrap your arms and legs around them and cuddle into, or kiss, their neck (hello, erogenous zone) while they thrust. Take it up a notch by whispering sweet nothings into their ear.

Spooning

Feeling sappy? If so, V-Day is the perfect time to up the intimacy with a position that’s gentle and romantic. To start, lay on your side with your back against your partner’s chest. Then, have them penetrate you from behind. Let their hands roam your body and feel your connection deepen as you are so close together.

This V-Day, don’t be afraid to let your freak flag fly, especially in the bedroom. After all, Valentine’s Day is the holiday of good sex. I don’t make the rules, I just follow them.
